February 21-27 2021

Hey mom thanks for the email! I love hearing about the week and it sounds like it was a good one.

Oh my goodness I can't believe the snow at home! It was 60 degrees here the last two days and it feels like baseball season for me so I think Elder Williams and I might hit in the Shaws batting cage today. Anyway the snow is so high, the one picture of the snow bank in the susnest is super crazy! Hopefully you get a big blizzard and miss school for a week or so.
Let's go!!!!!!! I am so happy for the boys beating sugar! I have waited a whole week to say that to someone!! I am so glad and can't wait to see how they do in state. How did sugar's play in game go? But I am glad to hear they won. Cinderella story anyone? Skyline was the district championship are you kidding me? Matt sent me a video and a recap of the Blackfoot game when Lando had 7 blocks but that is so awesome they won it all! Show's that if you peak at the right time all things are possible. Good for Lando and I am so glad to see him go to state! That will be awesome! Keep me updated on sports because I love hearing about it.
I love your spiritual thought! Martin Harris did show a lot of faith and did it even when everyone was against him including his own wife. I would want some proof too so my own family and friends stopped calling me crazy but thank you for your insight. I absolutely loved the quote from Ashlee. I know that God doesn't do random and it was such a good reminder to me that God puts us in situations for a reason. It was a good reminder to me that I am not here in Basin City for a random reason but I am here for somebody and I am going to find them with the Lord's help.

My Week:
This week was good. It was a little harder but we made it through so looking forward to an amazing week! We met with the Mendez family last week and had a really good lesson, she read 3rd nephi 27 and we talked about the Church of Jesus Christ and the importance of joining His church so we live with families forever and they agreed so then we invited them to be baptized like we planned and they said that they're good, they are comfortable where they are and don't want to change but love hearing our message about God. It was tough for sure but hopefully they will talk with Brother Hawkins some more and I pray they will want to change so they can live with each other forever.

Joe has also been really hard to contact this week. We didn't meet with him once and he only responded to a couple of our text so pray for Joe that he will be home when we go and visit and he will be interested in talking with us again. It is defenitly pretty hard and a need for faith but one thing I've been doing is listenting to a conference talk every single night beofre bed and I listened to an awesome one called "None were with Him" by Jeffery R. Holland and it was amazing. Talked about how Christ will be the ONLY one to walk this path completely alone. It is so comforting to me because I know no matter how hard the week was or a trial I am going through, I won't have to go through it alone because my Savior Jesus Christ will be there right with me.

We also met with Norma this week and and had a couple of good lessons with her. She is pretty strong in her own religion and doesn't want to change because she is comfortable and I realized that people aren't going to change unless they have some bit of desire. So  I pray she will have a desire to learn more but we watch the 1st Book of Mormon video with her and she loved it and thought it was cool how Nephi was the younger brother and was the example to his older ones.

We did a lot of service this week for Jake in helping him finish that rental he's working on and I love it so much. We also helped out the Eppich's with their rentals so we are just becoming known as the "Rental Elder's" which is a good thing I guess so everybody knows if they need help with anything we will be right there. Service always brings me back to Mosiah 2:17 and I am always reminded when we serve others we are serving our Heavenly Father.

I just wanted to let you know I love serving my Savior Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father. It literally is the greatest work on earth and I am so happy I'm here in good ole Basin City learning Spanish. President Rasmussen talked about having a sense of urgency and he talked about how the Savior's coming might be sooner than we think so have a sense of urgency when we are teaching these people because Heavenly Father wants all of His children to come home, not just a few, but EVERYONE and I feel so honored I have the chance to be part of this Gathering Israel. Love you all so much and have a good week!

Love Elder Reiley
