March 21-27, 2021

Hey everyone! Thank you for the email and pictures mom! I love hearing about everyone's week!

REPLY:
I love your thoughts about how we need to keep pushing forward and plant seeds just little bits at a time and I am excited to hear about grandpa's story because I can't remember what one you're talking about. I love talking to you guys every week and a lot of people say that it must be easy now you get to talk to your family and part of that is true but it is such a blessing and I look forward to it every week.

The family's week sounds like it was interesting and really fun! I am glad you took care of that skunk, I am sure Austin was all over that but do you remember the first time we tried to do the exhaust and dad lifted up the sheet and he was alive as could be? That was really funny! So excited for Austin and Ashlee and I did get permission from President to call but it has to be within 5 minutes to say congrats to Austin and Ash so we just need to work out a time to call.

March Madness is sounding intense! Jake and Hannah went on a trip on Sunday so I haven't heard a whole lot about what is going on but I know it has pretty much wrecked everyone's bracket but if it's a good tournament then I say it all works out. That is really sad to hear about Coach Smith and how sudden it was and I feel bad for Justin but hopefully they can find another good coach and just do good for Justin's last year. It sounds like it was a really fun weekend for the Family with Easter painting and skiing and fishing so I am glad you all are staying busy.

I love your thoughts about finding true joy and it all comes down to family. The family is so amazing because God knows us perfectly so He gave us our family so we could have joy. I love our family so much and am grateful for eternal families and I had a cool experience yesterday I'll share later in my email.

MY WEEK
This week was pretty normal for Elder Williams and I. We met with Joe once this week and had a really good talk with him. We are trying to resolve his concerns about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon so we watched the Restoration video with him and the spirit was so strong and I just asked Joe, "how is it not true? Why would Joseph suffer so many things?" I know it is true and I think it helped him understand where we are and just little by little his seed will grow. We also went to Norma's on Saturday and she wasn't home but we went to her mom's and they were having a party! It was someone's birthday so they were grilling and we got to meet all of her family and they are so nice. We want to take Norma on a church tour this week so we pray she will want to come with us. We also went and had a good lesson with Juan and he is such a good guy. We met with Billy a couple of times this week and it was good and she is really nice to us and seems to be getting interested so hopefully we can keep working with her. I love teaching because even in Spanish I feel the spirit and it reminds me of why I am here each time.

We did a lot of knocking this week out in the boonies again and we met A LOT of people, nice and not so nice, but no one was too interested but I get up and do the same thing everyday because I know Heavenly Father will provide someone in our path who is ready to accept the Gospel. Yesterday the wind blew in the afternoon and it blew 40 MPH. We saw two telephone poles knocked down and sand was blowing in my hair and pockets and teeth so it was pretty miserable but hopefully it will die down today.

Spanish is going well, I am trying to focus on how much I've come instead of how far I have to go. Yesterday we were having a meeting with the Spanish branch and I was trying to explain about someone we were teaching and everyone kinda seemed like they were laughing at me so it was pretty tough but I kept focusing on not feeling sorry for myself so before church started this member was sitting there so I decided to go talk to her and we had an awesome conversation about bearing testimonies to everyone we come across I am so glad I didn't feel sorry for myself and I got up and just tried and I know the Lord loves any effort. I am also really excited for general conference this next weekend and I pray that I will be open to the spirit to learn what the Lord wants me to learn.

Alright my experience about eternal families. We were at a member's house named the Hawkins and they are such an amazing family. We shared our message about prayer and faith and it was good, then we knelt in prayer and the little girl of the family said it and she was going and then she said something that hit me so hard, she said, "thank you that we are an eternal family." It was so cool for me to hear this girl in elementary school know and be thankful for her eternal family. As members of the church we are so blessed to know we will live with our families forever and ever! Nothing is the end and I pray I will help others see this pot of gold we have and I love my family so much! Thank you all for your love and support and I hope you have a good week!
