Thank you for your email mom! So good to hear about the week and everything going on!
Homecoming sounds so fun! I'm glad Kinley got the win in powderpuff but that sounds super intense not gonna lie. Too bad Marsh killed us but hopefully they can get better! That's so good that Austin got to have some fun but I'm interested to hear the story but I'm glad you were able to have a good week and go to Sheldon's and Kylas reception. Just think of the influence you make as you support them, so awesome mom! What is one cool mission experience you have had in the last couple of days.
Thanks for that good quote by Elder Holland! Definitely one of my favorites about being a true disciple, all we have to do is try. It reminds me of something I read recently in Heleman where he is talking to his sons about living the gospel even if the rest of the people aren't. They were taught true principles and lived the gospel and ended up converting thousands of their brothers. A good example to put the gospel first no matter what.
MY WEEK: Wow I don't really know what happened this week it went by really fast. It was the last week of the transfer so everything was kind of crammed but we still had a great week! First of all Monday night we had the opportunity to go and give a blessing to a member who is going through a hard time but it strengthened my testimony about how powerful the priesthood is and I am so grateful to be a tool in the Lord's hand.
This week we really tried to find a lot but we only found a couple of people with potential. Sammy is the daughter of Javier (who was just baptized and I'll talk about him later) and Patricia who is a member. We also found a girl, Fanni, and we shared a tender experience just talking about the gospel so it was so cool!
Now I want to talk about the coolest experience I have had so far and it strengthened my testimony a lot! So Javier is a guy that has been working towards baptism but first him and Patricia needed to get married so we had it set up for Saturday morning for them to get married then that evening for him to get baptized..... but that didn't happen at all. We went over Friday night and had to teach a few things and an emergency came up and they were maybe leaving but we got Bishop and our district leader over there and had a long talk and in the end Javier had his interview and passed and we set up a plan for Saturday but it was still shakey because they could just pack up and leave anytime. I was a little nervous but Elder Brown and I said a very humble prayer that everything would work out and I just had a good feeling knowing everything would work out. Then Saturday morning we got a text from both of them that said they would see us at the church and it was such an answer to prayer. So that day we got everything ready and at 5pm we went in and Bishop married them and we got to be witnesses to their marriage then right after we filled up the font and Javier was baptized at 7. It was so peaceful to see him baptized and receive the Holy Ghost. No doubt in my mind that this feeling overcomes any hard day that will come. Now we told them to keep being faithful and we'll meet together in a year and watch them get sealed and I can testify the mission is the best thing to be doing and this work is the work of the Lord's, His hand is in my life and I am grateful for Him.
Also a bonus was that elder Carr came for the weekend and to the baptism so it was good to see him! Then Sunday we heard about transfers and I am staying with Elder Brown so I am pumped! That night we had a huge party to celebrate the miracles we've seen and it was fun. Edler Carr came and we had a big relay race and it was a blast. I'll send some pictures in but right now, even though there are hard days, it is so fun! I love you all and want to testify again and Jesus Christ lives, He knows us.
Have a good week! Love you all!
-Elder Reiley
