Hey everyone! It sounds like everyone had an awesome week with graduation and Dad's birthday!
First to answer your questions; about the Branch, we did a lot of work this week and met 3 less active families we haven't met yet and it was so awesome! We invited all of the them to come to church and they all said they'd come but no one did which was tough but alright because they were actually really nice to us! One thing I learned about Jesus Christ this week in my studies was: He IS ALWAYS WILLING TO ACCEPT US. In Alma 5:62, Alma talks about how inviting everyone to come to Christ and I understand and felt the spirit so strong testify to me that Jesus Christ will always accept us no matter what we've done and I have a very strong testimony of it!
That is so cool about graduation and I love all the pictures you sent me. #1 I can't believe another school year is gone and #2 that all those kids are graduated, I love them all so much and I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to go to school and build great relationships with them. I am glad it was so fun and such an enjoyable time.
It sounds like a super fun weekend with Jax and Alex and Dad's birthday. I am glad they went on a ride and also you all could go to the Cemetery. Those are some amazing memories I have of going and sitting with family and talking about Kimball and Grandpa and you could definitely feel the spirit so strong. I love family so much and especially the fact that I don't have to wonder if I'll see them again because I know I will and I feel so blessed to be a member of the church and going along with what you shared about trusting God's timing and it's hard but it is so cool to see the stars align the way the Lord has planned.
MY WEEK
This week was pretty normal. We just spent a lot of time at the blue house with Jake doing some service and I'll have to get a picture of the work we've done. We also made the huckleberry shakes and it was so much fun and the Shaws were a big fan! How can you not be?
Like I said earlier we had a big push this week with some success and met some less actives in the Branch. They didn't come to church but it was such a miracle we found and got to talk to them because we were knocking on the wrong doors for all of them! We just felt prompted to knock some of these doors and turns out it was them! The lord is in control and has a way to accomplish His work.
This week we had a big zone exchange and I was with Elder Samuelson, a super good missionary! We were with Elder Hatch in Connell and he is super awesome! We did a lot of finding methods and we saw a lot of success in his area so I had a good time.
On Sunday we were in 1st ward and it was 5 minutes before the meeting started and the councilor came up and said he had a speaker fall out so we were up to fill some time, classic missionary life, but it was so awesome to introduce myself and talk a little bit about missionary work and I'll share a cool expirence later in the later. Also in second ward Karie came to church! She brought her brand new baby but she never cried and Karie loved it. Heavenly Father is definitely blessing us here in Basin!
My spiritual thought is a cool experience President Rasmussen told us. So a mission president asked President Nelson how to improve the missionary work in his mission and President Nelson gave him a brief response and the president wasn't too pleased. So after the meeting President Nelson came up to the mission president and said, "In my life time the world will grow darker and darker until the only light in the world will be the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and people will flock to it." If you made it to the end of this letter read that quote again..... It's gametime we are in the 4th quarter and the clock is ticking, Elder Ashton and I feel a huge sense of urgency to keep this work going and bring Father in Heaven's children home!
Love you all so much and have a good and safe week. I love being a missionary and the fact I can bring peace into people's life through the Atonement of our Savior.
Being a missionary is the best thing you could be. When the world has so many distractions, we can be 100% focused on Jesus Christ and we help others be happy through the Gospel. You 7th grade boys are God's best servants, He saved you for this time. You serve will all your heart right now and you can be great missionaries in the future. Satan has power but if we live the Gospel of Jesus Christ we will have way more power and we will be a light to those around us! I know my Savior lives and He wants us to give our best every day! In the name of Jesus Christ amen.
Love Elder Reiley
