May 9-15, 2021

Hey everyone! Thanks for the email and it sounds like a pretty normal week for everyone.

I love your thoughts about Elder Holland and I feel like whenever I need a pump up I go to a talk or video of his. This quote is so true and something I want to share with Karie and Josh, just how we can look forward to change and not have fear.

High school sports sound good and sugar didn't get in baseball but I assume they won track? Good job for Ty and Kinley. I am glad they stuck with track when it would have been easy to give up. Sorry to hear about Janet and tell the Arnold's I'm praying for them. Hows Denver doing? Glad to hear about Dallin going on a mission and Landon getting ready to go! He's gonna be great.

MY WEEK
This week was really good for Elder Ashton and I! We got to do a lot of service and we built a fence with Jake and also a referral we received so it was sweet!

We did another big push about finding more Spanish branch members to get to church so we went to over to Mesa (a small town outside of Basin) and we knocked like 15 doors and went 1/15 so it was pretty rough but we did find 4 new people to teach this week so hopefully we can keep them up.

We had an awesome lesson with Joe this last week and we talked about the Book of Mormon and he agrees that it can help him so it was super cool! Juan was really good too and had a little lesson with him and he's a stud! We also did service with the Haworth's and it was super cool and a good bonding for us. We have a lesson with them tonight so please pray that we can have the spirit and have a good one with them. I am really excited and I love being a missionary.

So Karie and Josh had their baby this last week and we haven't had a lesson with them but the relief society has come in clutch! We go by with one of the sisters every other night and drop off a dinner so we are building a relationships and the ward is really sweet.

Also this Saturday we had a big district service and we did the food bank! It was so sweet and we passed out a lot of food so it was fun. Then after we had lunch with the Shaws with the district and played some hockey with their kids so it was a party for sure. Then on Sunday I got to meet Brad Street again and he took some stuff home for me but it is always so cool to see someone from home and know the Valley is alright.

This week I have been really trying to focus on the Christlike attribute of Diligence. I love this attrtibute so much because it has what my parents, siblings, and coaches have taught me my whole life and that is "when the going gets tough, grit your teeth and go to work" I was thinking about how much Christ went through and how much he deserved a break! Everything he did was 100%, so when I look at missionary work and get tired or feel like I've done enough, I remember my Savior and all we can do is duck our heads and go to work.

I love you all so much and appreciate your love and support. I hope you all are safe and have an awesome week!
