Hey everyone! This week flew by so fast there was a lot that happened! Thanks for the updates on things and it sounds like it was a good week!
Respond: YAYY!! FOR KINLEY!! So glad to hear she actually won the triple jump in the Tiger Grizz! That is super crazy and Ty got second in the high jump and he is only a sophomore! Good for them and glad to hear they having fun and having success. Baseball is too bad they got rained out but hopefully the good kids on there can have fun and enjoy it while they have it. So fun to hear about Dustin and how he is pumped. I imagine that Basic Training isn't the easiest thing to do so I am super proud of him too and his family is really awesome and they will find the gospel! You could try and refer them to the missionaries and can go and stop by and try it out??
Thanks for your thoughts in 3rd Nephi 11. I love this chapter because every time I read it I feel so strongly that Jesús Christ is real and he shared his gospel here! I love when he teaches baptism because it is so clear and it is his way and also how he talks directly after is not to have contention which is interesting but I know Christ lives and thanks to the Book of Mormon and the Bible together we know ALL of his truths.
My week: This week was good with a lot of ups and downs. On Tuesday I was able to go on exchanges with Elder meads the AP so it was super awesome and I learned a lot from him and we taught Martha and her family the word of wisdom and they are doing really good not drinking coffee or alcohol so please keep praying for them! Satan is not giving up, last night we had a lesson and they have some doubts but have received so many answers from Heavenly Father so with faith they can truly understand and make this decision but their baptism is this Saturday so we are praying that everything goes smoothly.
We had a really good week finding! We found 11 new people to teach and the Lord has his ways. The first was a family that have a lot of problems but we are working there. We started teaching the parents of a youth that's a member but we'll see if their parents want to progress or not.
Lastly we found a "family" that live on the same street but they are all friends and we were walking by and helped them tear down a wall then went by yesterday and had a really good talk and they gave us dinner but they had a lot of questions about the church so it was super good to be there and answer them and we are excited to see and help them progress.
Ok, I know it is getting long but I have to tell you about Oscar and Claudia. So they told us Wednesday morning that we needed to go to a town Zaragoza to get them divorced and on Saturday was the wedding and baptism! Huge miracle so we got everything ready and made invitations for them and it was so exciting the Branch was super excited because they have been waiting 2 years for this. So we went and turns out the people can't do it and they were really rude and it was a bummer but we got back and just talked about keeping their hopes up and don't throw in the towel. When Nephi's brothers tied him up and all that, it says Nephi never murmured but gave thanks and they are amazing people just we have to figure out the way but probably going to take about 6 months but that is OK and the Lord knows exactly what he is doing!
Sunday is mother's day. I just want to say how much I love my mom! I wouldn't be here today without her. In school helping me in everything and just being such a good example of what a Christlike person is. I love you mom! Also here in Mexico on Saturday they had the holiday "Kids day" and yesterday during church I was thinking of how important family is, that we have specific days to celebrate. It isn't always easy for some people but I know the Lord has blessed us with our families and I know together we will live forever and have so much joy!!
Love you all and have a good week. I pray for you everyday and if there is anything you need just send me an email!
Love Elder Reiley
