Hey everyone! Well it was a good week here in Coatza. Let me tell you it is a whole new world compared to Benemerito but the adjusting will come. I am glad to hear you all had a pretty normal week and thanks for the updates on everyone!
REPLY: First of all congrats to my boy Max for winning state and Ryker and Remmie for placing too! Also sad to hear the boys season came to an end I just hope Sugar doesn't win it but that is so cool about Kinley and Reece making the all team state! Sounds like a really good season! Also thanks for the updates on Justin's Senior night! I am glad he had so much family support from aunts and uncles to cousins and everyone! Sad to hear they lost but one thing I've noticed in Justin is in all the pictures he is the same, happy/smiling and it is something I noticed that has really impressed me and helped me in the mission to always be happy no matter the circumstance.
Thanks for your spiritual thought in the Book of Mormon and I love 3rd nephi so much because it Literally testifies that Jesus Christ, the same Christ that EVERYONE believes in, came and taught his doctrine and He lives. It is so true that when we study the scriptures diligently we will find what Christ taught.
My Week: Well this week honestly wasn't crazy exciting but it was a lot of visiting and getting to know people which I love to do!
One thing, probably my favorite thing on the mission to do, is ask members how they found the gospel or why were they baptized. Everyone here has such an awesome story and testimony and are so faithful it is pretty humbling to see but the members here are so awesome!
UPDATES: So my area is really really big. We cover 3 different wards so we are always bouncing around here and there which is pretty rough. There is a lot of work to do here with the 3 areas, less actives, helping recent converts, and working with members so I am really excited to work with Elder Rivas. One thing that is really awesome I have noticed in the gift of tongues. I was talking to dad on my birthday about this but it is amazing to see how the Lord has helped me understand what the people say and I have felt Him put the words in my mouth, and the ability to remember words I have studied. Believe me I still have a lot to go but I have to recognize the help Heavenly Father has given me this last week and my time in Mexico.
This week I got to meet a few people that we are teaching and they are awesome! We have a friend named Yamilet who has a baptismal date for the beginning of April and she has so much faith and a testimony! She and her mom are really humble and just looking for the truth!
Also yesterday we went to lunch with a Recent Convert named Edgar who is so amazing and basically like our uncle who gives us so much and is so kind! We went with him to visit the bishop in our ward who had his apendix removed recently so it was super cool to go and meet him and guess what, at his house were some members from Minatitlan who I knew so that was cool!
That is about it for the week, sorry I will try to think of more to say this next week but I sure do love you all! I loved a quote that Elder Rivas told one of our Recent Converts Edgar and he said, "The Lord doesn't call the people who are prepared, He prepares the ones He calls" It reminded me that the Lord has a plan and He knows what he's doing, if we don't feel adequate prepared for a calling, we don't need to worry, because the Lord will help us fulfill the calling.
I love you all so much and I testify with every ounce of energy I have that this the the true church of Jesus Christ and through it we will be saved!
Love Elder Reiley
