Hey everyone! I hope you are all doing good and have had a great couple of weeks. Today is my pday so I will try to give a good update on what has happened these last 2 weeks but all is good and I am super happy!
Reply: First of all I am glad to hear it was a good week and that you were all able to go to Oklahoma and spend some time with the Bean family wow that is super awesome and to see all the pictures brought back so many memories when I was a kid and we went together. They are so awesome and thanks for sharing those pictures and I am glad everything went well! How is dad and grandpa doing with the Hay and farming? Almost got it done? Hopefully everything goes well for them and they can get it done without any problems. Also about the package we also sent an email to someone to try and find out but they didn't respond so if it gets here great but if not no worries.
Thanks for your spiritual thoughts and I love how Heavenly Father is always guiding us to our heavenly home and never will He do something is take us away from the path but it's the opposite and he is pulling us trying to help us stay on the path so thanks for that!
My Week: Wow so the last time I sent an email it was August 1 and now its the 13 so time is flying by so fast. I wasn't able to write on Monday because it was transfer and 19 new missionaries got here so we had to go to the airport 3 times that day to pick everyone up. It was super fun and always crazy because I remember when I got to Washington and Mexico it was a crazy day but everything went smooth and that night we were able to go with the missionaries that left to President's house and have dinner so it was sweet!
So honestly so much has happened but I will just talk a little about what happened 2 weeks ago.
-We went on visits with members and it was so awesome because we found some less actives and their families aren't members so we're excited to help them
-We got lost and the combi ended up taking us to a tiny town about 2 hours away from Villahermosa but we made it back safely
-We gave some blessings to Guadalupe's family and now they are all in teaching and interested! Pray for Mariana because she was super interested but sent us a message saying she couldn't meet anymore.
-I got really sick and had some stomach problems but all the elders of the house gave me a blessing and I was able to keep working so I am really grateful for the Priesthood!
This week that just happened was also really good. Like I said we had a lot of time in the office updating the new missionaries and areas and all the transfers so that kept us busy but we also still found time to do some good work in our area! Also Elder Saldana (my old companion) went home on Wednesday so all day Tuesday he was with us so it was a tender mercy I was able to be with him!
On Thursday we had Mission leadership council so elder Villanueva and I had to prepare everything with President Chavez but it all went super well and I sure do love all the missionaries I am with. We talked about how through become disciples of Jesus Christ we can help the mission grow so it was really spiritual and super good for me. I was sad because I realized it was my last one and I am not a person of goodbyes so it will be an interesting last transfer.
That same day we had exchanges with my man Elder Landrum and his companion Elder Villareal so it was a fun night and we set a baptismal date with Guadalupe's daughter and her son Liliana and Derick so we are super happy for them but keep them in your prayers because they have some obstacles to overcome but honestly being a missionary is the best!
On Friday it was super awesome because it was my companions Elder Villanueva's birthday! We bought a cake and had a surprise party that was super fun and then we went out and ate as a district! I am grateful for him and the love of Christ that he has shown me and his example of a great missionary and has grown to be one of my brothers!
I know this is getting long but to share a scripture that stood out to me is in 1 Nephi 10:17 when Nephi says that he had the desire to know the truth from the Holy Ghost. In our lives right now what are our desires we have? When heavenly father looks down on us, what desires is he going to see that we have? I was thinking sometimes in our lives our desires might be that the browns win the super bowl but I love Nephi's example of always trying to learn from the Holy ghost by looking diligently and I know when we do the same the Lord will bless us according to the desires we have.
I love you all so much and hope you have the best week ever and always remember to have joy and happiness in your lives!
Love Elder Reiley
