Hey everyone! First of all HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!! Thanks for being such a good example and teaching me to work hard and for your example!
Just another week down here in Villahermosa! It was really hot but also we had a little hurricane yesterday so things are wild but I'm loving it. This week I learned that patience and hope through trials the Lord always blesses us with miracles.
Reply: Thanks so much for the updates and I'm glad to hear things are winding down in the school year and that you had Kinleys Graduation! I bet it was really interesting seeing and hearing the talks and I bet it was uncomfortable but it shows you there is a work to be done, how religion is not being chained down to something but it is being freed from the things of the world! Super proud of Kinley and all those seniors! Also that is super good to hear you got to go to the Cemetery yesterday with the family and keep that tradition going and it made my day seeing those golf balls in front of Kimballs headstone! I'm sure grateful for forever family's.
That is such a good thought and I love 3rd Nephi so much and also elder hollands quote.. helps me remember the final outcome and if we are faithful we are on the winning team. I know it is true but I loved a quote I heard this week from an brother.
"It's not easy to be a member if you don't live the gospel but it is when you do live the gospel." I know the gospel is simple and easy, just one day at a time!
My week: Like I said this week we saw quite a bit of opposition. With Manuel and Malu they had a lot of work and their baby got sick so we weren't able to meet with them but they did come to church so that was such a miracle!
We had a lot of meetings this week and spent a lot of time in the office with President planning things so it was alright. But because of this we didn't get too much time in our area but the Lord blessed us so much!
Wednesday I was able to go on exchanges with Elder Despain and it was super good! We saw a lot of miracles and taught Guadalupe and her family and it turns out we got permission from President so she can get baptized so we are super excited for her! Also they came to church which was way cool.
Also sorry these emails don't really have order and they are all over the place. I am just sharing what I remember from the week. But things are going really good with them and also on Friday we had our interviews with President and Sister Whitworth. It was our last ones with them before they leave so it was a little sad but also President hyped me up a lot and help me feel really good about a few doubts I had but he is so inspired and I am so glad I get to work with him and learn more than anything.
Then Sunday was a big miracle day! We got up and went to church and had 8 people we are teaching come! Then also we got a referral from the sisters who lives in our area and she is ready to be baptized so we are excited to work with her! Then after lunch we focused on finding because we hadn't found all week so we prayed and went looking and at first we got rejected a lot and we were pretty discouraged but we prayed and kept looking and found 4 new people that are interested and are looking for solutions to their problems so it was so awesome then we got to the church and we were able to help the stake President and the bishop give a blessing to a less active family so it was a really good day! Also we didn't get too wet in the storm but it was wild with rain, wind, and lighting.
I wanted to share a cool scripture I found in Philippians 3:13-14. It is Pablo talking about the things of the past of what he has done and it says, "forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth unto those tings which are before. I press toward the mark." I loved this because the things we have repented of, the things we have been forgiven of are in the past and can leave them there! Pressing forward to the mark or the Celestial Kingdom where we can live together forever! Thank you so much and sure do love you guys!
Love Elder Reiley
P.S. Maybe for the package if you could send me some good pens, and maybe some treats but I am doing good!
